Care

The growing burden upon General Practice has identified an ever increasing number of areas that advice and treatment can be sought outside of General Practice, from alternative providers. The Welsh Eye Care Service has accredited various opticians / optometrists to conduct expert eye assessments, which if needed can be referred to Eye Clinic without the need of GP intervention. Similarly the Choose Pharmacy initiative further ‘frees-up’ GP time by allowing specified pharmacists to issue advice or free-of-charge treatment for a variety of conditions.
